Occupational Therapists facilitate individual growth and development, enabling you to regain optimum independence and control over your life after illness or injury. Our aim is to ensure you have the opportunity to develop a lifestyle as close to your original one as possible; rebuilding your identity and reflecting your personality in relation to all aspects of day to day living, keeping in mind what's most important to you: Home, friends, work, leisure and going to special places.
We put you at the centre of your own care:
We involve you in decision-making at every level. At Rehab4U we focus on neurological rehabilitation, postural management and long term injury rehabilitation. This involves looking at:
- The way you take in information and make sense of it.
- How you carry out essential and non-essential activities like getting dressed, eating and preparing food and taking part in enjoyable and social activities.
- Quality of life and how to improve this.
We do this by:
- Helping you to improve your thinking process; adapting the way you do things and providing you with new ways of breaking down information to understand it better and follow the steps to achieving a task.
- Assessing for and providing equipment that enables you to do things your body won't let you do anymore (like getting in and out of bed or the bath and eating independently).
- Assessing your posture and recommending equipment like wheelchairs and seating to enable you to comfortably relax at home and get out and about safely.
- Analysing the balance of activities you take part in and making recommendations about support and equipment needed for you to access more enriching activities and build skills in your preferred hobbies and interests.
